Background: The Egyptian Pharaoh Obeko and his wish granting diamonds fascinated Cassy as a child, but now a teenager, her life has been turned upside down. She's no longer worried about a silly story that her grandfather told her. She's lost both parents in a car accident, she's been forced to move from her hometown in Edmonton, Alberta to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; her relationship with her oldest brother Michael is estranged, and when she starts school, Cassy is bullied by Zack Exacil. She struggles to catch her breath underneath the crashing waves, but her petty problems are the least of her concern. As it turns out, Zack Exacil is an ally that Cassy must learn to trust when she becomes the target of a criminal group seeking Obeko's heir. Victor is the epitome of charisma and good looks. His chiseled face and meticulously kept brown hair will swoon any woman. He is well dressed in black collared shirts, and khakis. His piercing black-brown eyes mesmerize behind the mask that conceals his demons. Background: Not much is known about Victor, the leader of the criminals turned treasure hunters, but one must be wary when they see his neck twitch and he begins flicking his fingers with his thumb. The itch, as he calls it, is starting to take claim of his calm and his mask is slipping away. |

Jason tucks his long blond hair behind his ear. His blue eyes are calculating when he is in research mode. He’s tall (6’ 2”) and lean, which he uses as an advantage when chasing after their next supposed heir. Background: Jason is an archaeologist who prides himself with knowledge and research. He and Eric are college mates who located Obeko's tomb in 2010. They become partners-in-crime after a tragic death of their friend, Francis, and are approached by the mysterious man, Victor. Unable to dissuade the itch of knowledge, Jason agrees to join the hunt for the Egyptian Heir. After two years of searching with few answers, Jason and Eric are arrested. A year in jail leads to them breaking out to rejoin Victor and his men, only to learn that a supposed heir is a teenage girl. Jason is constantly researching Obeko and the tomb. He’s generally seen with his field notebook in hand and when asked questions, he provides short answers. He hopes that once the curse is broken, all of his questions will be answered. Jason’s thirst for knowledge hasn’t been quenched yet. |

Eric’s sun kissed skin is permanent from his days in the Egyptian heat searching for Obeko’s tomb. He is a suave man with a charming smile and handsome features. What he doesn’t have in height (1.79 meters [5’ 8”]), he has in confidence and a burly chest and arms. Background: Eric is an archeologist, and alongside Jason and their fallen colleague, Francis, they located Obeko’s cursed tomb. After a disastrous attempt in capturing a supposed heir, he was arrested and spent a year in prison. He is bitter and resolute on taking revenge on Zack, the agent who arrested him. Eric has an air of overconfidence to him. He wants to be the smartest person in the room and he likes to show off. He is a multilingual, a skill that benefits the men when they are in foreign lands with six languages under his belt. His eyes tend to linger upon Cassy and he takes pleasure in making vulgar comments. Victor reminds him several times that Cassy’s worth is the diamonds, nothing more. Cassy learns to tread carefully around him as he makes his intentions clear. He is a man with answers but answers come with a price. |

His neck, which is eclipsed by his shoulders, begins to redden all the way up to his round face where his permanent scowl deepens. Background: Jonathon is second-in-command. With a military background, he restrains their hostages with precision and merciless tugs of the black rope that he invented. He is a man of few words, but what he doesn’t say, he uses his intimidating rhinoceros shaped body to submit any fight. Though he is reprimanded often for it, Jonathon always wreaks of alcohol, and as his words slur, his anger flares. Jonathon is not one to back down from a fight. He won’t allow his money ticket to escape. |

His neatly groomed facial hair from his chin to his sideburns cannot hide the contempt he carries towards all others around him. Background: Not much is known about this man who's always the one called to drug Cassy and Zack. He keeps to himself as much as possible. He was a gunsmith in Vancouver before moving to the US to line his pockets. Austin knows his way around a computer and is the reason Cassy was found in the first place. His brutish attitude towards the teenagers makes them weary about how much of a threat he actually is. He tends to have ways to interfere with every attempt Cassy and Zack make to escape the men’s grasps. |

As she reels with the loss of her parents, moving from her happy home, and the persistent bullying at school, the door is opened to the vicious criminals seeking the Egyptian Heir. Buddy is a New York City architect turned criminal when he overhears Austin talking about the heir and the plans to meet in the crisp province of Saskatchewan. Wanting a change of pace from the business of everyday drawl, Buddy takes matters into his own hands. After passing Austin’s numerous tests with flying colors, Austin allows Buddy to join him to meet the group, who are not the people Buddy was prepared to meet. He’s in it for the long haul, there’s no backing out now. He’s smooth and relaxed, fulfilling his treacherous role as a counsellor that weasels his way into the Waters’ lives, being the confidante they require, but don't deserve. |

While on a routine traffic stop, Daniel and his partner are forced to engage in a gunfight, resulting in the death of his partner and Daniel’s career ending injuries. He decides that if he can’t put them away, he’ll keep the criminals behind bars. Unfortunately for him, Victor and his men are locked up in his prison and at the sight of Victor, Daniel knows it will only mean trouble. Daniel is Victor’s younger brother. They haven’t seen one another since Daniel graduated high school eleven years ago. He’s intrigued by the idea of the diamonds. Though he holds true to his morals for an entire year, when his life becomes shambles after his fiancée leaves him, Daniel finds no reason to remain an incorruptible man. He releases Victor’s men from prison and joins them in their tyranny to ensnare the heir. Daniel struggles with his values when the violence takes hold and the diamonds are entrancing. Mr. Edwards is a stern man with salt and pepper sprinkling his pitch black hair, and lines that crease his forehead from the constant worry of being the Saskatoon Branch Head. With his shorter stature and being middle-aged, others underestimate him and deem him unimportant. Yet, when he speaks in his powerful deep voice, he holds an air of authority. Background: Mr. Edwards is the Saskatoon Branch Head and Supervisory Agent of the Egyptian Heir assignment. He is nearing retirement, but does not slack off. He cares deeply for all of his agents and assignments, ensuring their safety above all else. He struggles to overcome the obstacles he faces when the Board seems to do everything to prevent him from saving Cassy and Zack before they reach the tomb. |

Mitchell Rognas

He is casual in comfortable jeans and a T-shirt and appears to be a construction worker rather than an agent of the FUA. His dirty blond hair is unruly and behaves like a goofy counterpart. He is athletic and tall (1.95m or 6’4”). Background: Mitchell is a Supervisory Rescue Team Agent and excels in rescue assignments. He carries a goofy grin across his face and tries to have fun whenever possible. An FUA agent’s days are dark and full of sorrow, so he finds the best out of every situation. Mitchell is Zack’s close friend, and is the closest thing to being Zack’s brother after tragedy struck the Exacil family. |

Greg’s mountainous physique overshadows all. He’s tall (1.98 m or 6’ 5”), bald, and tan. His brown eyes are kind with a strict gleam that scold silently when agents fall out of line. Background: Greg is Head of Security at the Saskatoon branch. He was once considered to be the next Branch Head, but an assignment going awry left him unable to take on the mantle. He now puts all his energy in ensuring the safety of the agents and Saskatoon headquarters. He guards the main entrance into the FUA. Outdated equipment and low funding by the Board creates a troublesome hurdle for Greg to jump through. |

Appearance: This curly blond haired, middle-aged woman is usually seen in red heels and a lab coat. When she is not conducting experiments, she is in tailored suits and blouses to ensure she is taken seriously in the science community. She is serious and does not backdown when she knows she's right.
Background: Mrs. Ember is the Science Unit Head in the Research and Development Ward. Mrs. Ember developed the Root and Leif communication devices that agents use while on assignment. She is passionate about ensuring agents are equipped to succeed. |

Andrew Weber

Appearance: Andrew is 18 years old. He's strong and hold his own in any fight. His black hair is messily gelled back and his dimpled cheeks are a mask for the hidden schemes that he plots to gain status within the FUA.
Background: Andrew began his FUA career the same year as Zack during a Youth Program recruitment. He struggled during training. His skills in marksmanship led him to becoming a Surveillance Agent under Supervisory Agent Stephen Guenther. Agent Guenther recommended him for the Red Tape Classified Egyptian Heir assignment when a secondary agent position became available. Tensions are high due to past fights between Zack and Andrew. Andrew has always been jealous of Zack, who tends to be the top of his class and has received prestigious awards and assignments over Andrew. No matter what Andrew does to get ahead, he’s always falling behind. Andrew and Zack nearly failed their final exam due to Andrew’s incompetence during the mock assignment. He spent an extra six months retraining while Zack joined Agent Tomas Exacil on an undercover assignment in Europe. Andrew’s goal is to best Zack and gain a standing and power in the FUA. He allows the diamonds to corrupt him and his jealousy towards Zack to do the unthinkable. |
